it’s not that he doesn’t care. it’s that he’s a bloke. Not to mention a geinus scientist with 3 degrees, focusing on making important looking mechines out of junk. Not to mention reasons, I.e. does a geneticly altered life form created in a lab technically HAVE a birthday? No matter how adorable.
