  1. Hobbes T Cat says:

Being a parent is real job. But not one that pays. So unless Mark makes enough money to support you both believing you can just live on happy mom thoughts is a dream. Good thing you’re going to end up in happy pony land by the time this is over.

    1. ryttyr says:

Well, from his thoughts a few pages back we already know Mark don’t make enough money on the farm to support a family currently so yeah, her dream is just a fantasy that’ll soon be crushed by reality barring magical intervention.

    2. Shadow Wing says:

it is a job that does pay.
Not in money but by love and kindness from your children who will be grateful for your care.

      1. kabhes says:

but people cant eat love and kindness

        1. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

          True…but Changelings can. xDDDD
          (Sorry not sorry lol)

But seriously, being a mother can be a paying job, just not for your own children – babysitters, childminders, nannies, nursemaids, au pairs…

  2. Jared says:

    That reveal some interesting information

  3. VulpesRex says:

Great dialogue! Well-paced! FIRST time we’ve seen Grace angry…no, in a FURY…,at her dad’s clinging on to the false hope that his wife (her mom) will return. For all of her dreams, Grace has a better grip on Reality than her father has.

…but (on a very minor, TEENY nitpick) there ought to at least be some vestiges of Grace’s wings – even if folded – visible behind Grace in panels 5 & 6…

  4. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

A lot of backstory managed to be explained in a single page, this was a very revealing update in terms of where Grace’s mum got to all these years…
Although, tiny nitpick here – the word is “jeopardise/jeopardize”. ๐Ÿ™‚

LOL Grace – “my baby bump would seem to disagree with that statement” indeed… ;-P

  5. ryttyr says:

Wow, well that explains a lot. This brings a whole new depth to Grace and her reason for being such an overprotective mother to Princess and Luna. Would have been nice to have this information sooner as it explains so much and brings a new depth to the entire story.

  6. Nikary Flare says:

So I wasnโ€™t wrong when I thought sheโ€™s too young.

    1. Shieltar says:

No, it’s just that dads tend to think of there daughters as there little baby girl, no matter how old they actually are. Grace being old enough to get pregnant is a reality Gerald has avoided confronting until now.

      1. PiMan says:

Being old enough to get pregnant and being too young to be a parent can overlap.
In a real world situation like this (but without the magic, obviously), I’d think that she’s probably too young. She’s not showing the emotional maturity to fully consider her situation. She can be the most loving mother on Earth, but that won’t put food on the table.

That said, she’s a fictional character; more than that, she’s *your* fictional character. And I don’t think you’d make her struggle like that. This comic is not that kind of story.

  7. sailtor says:

Panel three on this page is messed up – all text does not fit in the second speech bubble(counting from up to down).

  8. Arn says:

Is Mark going to ruin things by running away?

  9. astromormy says:

Very nice. I also approve of the message presented, provided Mark gets a decent job.

  10. Volko says:

Being a mom is indeed a fulltime jobb that only pay if you do it right and then only in love and care of your famely.

    As for Grace’s mom?
I think her or her second dothers name ends whit “alis”

  11. railbaron1 says:

Hold Up, M.A.D. U? Please tell me not as in the Organisation M.A.D. from Inspector Gadget. Cause if it was the case I could totally see the Professor knowing Dr. Claw.

    1. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

This “M.A.D Science” stands for “Monstrously Advanced and Dubious Science”. They can study it at MAD U. ๐Ÿ™‚
Personally, I would’ve called “UMAD?” (lol sorry for the pun)

  12. ryttyr says:

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    1. Shieltar says:

      Merry Christmas

      1. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

Happy Hearth’s Warming Day to everypony! ๐Ÿ˜€

  13. Brownie Guy says:

I know I am kind of late, but I want to wish everyone, from our family to yours, a Very Merry Christmas, Happy Hearth’s Warming, and a Friendly New Year!

one tiny nitpick on third panel dad says jeperdize which should be jeopardize. I just hope Grace has plans on how to meet the physical needs of her kiddos, Luna and Celestia are going to need more than love and cuddles if they are going to grow up to be big strong healthy mares. (maybe if the third child is a changeling that might be a different story)

  14. Evil Paladin says:

The way the Shadowing is shaped in the last panel, it looks like Grace’s eye is sticking/jutting out of her head and it’s kinda creepy looking.

  15. Borg says:

Grace, I’m not sure whether you’re living the life you want to live or simply playing out your lingering abandonment issues.
