I love the bird. Good use of motion/time through the panels.

    And the Kirin is hilarious.

    1. Coma Blitz says:

Agreed kirin is hilarious, also no doubt is about to learn the unique ability of kirins really early

  2. Julius says:

it started the born of Equestria

  3. Nikary Flare says:

Well, at least Philomena was revived.

    1. Shieltar says:

It’s not philomena, it’s a regular bird tirning into a pheonex.

      1. Jeremiah Shaw says:

        Buzz kill.

  4. SuperTaster says:

  6. roguim says:

I don”t want to set the world is Ponies…

    1. VulpesRex says:

Is that a reference to the ‘Inkspots” song (“I Don’t Want To Set The World On Fire/I Just Want to Start/A Flame In Your Heart”) from the Swing Era?

      1. roguim says:

        Indeed. It is.
I am a huge Ink Spots and Fallout fan.

  7. VulpesRex says:

    Nicely Done!
I guess Princess’ mum is at least 20% Awesomer than the Director is (or should I say “was”?).

    1. ElementOfKindness says:

Ground zero is going to be interesting!

  8. ElementOfKindness says:

    Goodbye clothing!

  9. JasonAW3 says:

Well, crap… Now how am I going to have my morning cup of tea? How am I going to MAKE my morning cup of tea?! For that matter, how am I going to get back into my house?!?

    1. Dave Van Domelen says:

      Practice.

      1. Arn says:

There is still tea in Equestria….

The empire is gone but the tea…
        …pot?
        …..still, um sings…on?

  10. Chakat Firepaw says:

I don’t mind the wings, but where’s my upper torso and the other half of my genitals?

  11. Eroraf says:

Thus endeth the human race. I wonder how Mark’s folks are coping…

    1. Arn says:

      Time to Farm!

  12. Ferro says:

Damn, I’m now a pony, but my wife is a dragon. I’m affraid there might be some “logistical issues”. Oh, and our kids turned out griffon and changeling…

    1. Jason says:

My fieoncey is a dragon scaly, I don’t mind that. I also wouldn’t mind if she was a real dragon.

  13. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

Cue the mass freak-outs everywhere! 😀 I wonder how quickly the human society will begin to collapse after the change?

I imagine it would be fairly quick – the mass freak-outs might escalate into riots, the authorities would be quickly overwhelmed, maybe attempting to institute martial law but let’s face it, the forces would be panicking as well…societal collapse would probably take place in days or weeks at most, rather than months or more.

I don’t know why, but I’d kinda assumed that all of one species would turn into another species (Humans to Ponies) – not some humans becoming ponies, but others randomly becoming gryphons. Cool. 😀

    1. JasonAW3 says:

With no thumbs, it could collapse quite quickly…

      1. evg-zhabotinsky says:

Well, Mark learned to use hooves just fine, despite the lack of opposable thumbs. Plus there are dragons with their claws, they should be able to *hand*le things while others learn.

I’d guess the “society as they knew it” would collapse mostly because of a complete paradigm shift. For example, who needs the grid when a local unicorn can supply all the power you would ever need in exchange for the excess food that keeps growing like crazy under your hooves? Or roads, when a pegasus friend can fly your errands in ten seconds flat. A kid just turned the world into her fairy tale fantasy, and others are getting this ability to a degree.

Society can collapse not only from things getting hard and chaotic, but also from things getting too easy and people no longer needing the society at large.

  14. Daniel J. Drazen says:

I picture myself turning into a Care Bear(tm), and going “YES!!!!!”

    1. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

I’d prefer to be a Gummi Bear, personally. 😉

Dashing and daring, courageous and caring…

      1. Jeremiah Shaw says:

Is that a reference to that old ’80s/90s show?

        1. Yet_Pone_More_Idiot says:

It’s not just a reference, it’s the opening line of the theme song! 😀

  15. Cobalt Comet says:

Hopefully piolets become gryphons, hipogryphs or some other species with fingers so they can land their plane.
Also is that hupogryph supposed to have no wings?

    1. Drew Rhine says:

      Actually hypogriffs have wings

      1. Cobalt Comet says:

Don’t see any wings on the hypogryph in last panel.

    2. evg-zhabotinsky says:

Pegasi can use their wings as hands just fine. I’d expect most pilots to become pegasi.
And even if things go south, some unicorn onboard might teleport everyone out on instinct. Worst case scenario, everypony involved “goes flat-faced” for a moment and crawls out of the wreck with some birds circling over their heads.
More likely, though, the plane turns into a dirigible.

  16. deathsia150 says:

Hopefully the author doesn’t end it quite yet, I wanna see how the world handles the change and how the new world order is established.

    1. Shieltar says:

This is the last book, but not the last page.

  17. Danyelle Doucet says:

And thus, the first hippogriff is created….

  18. MsSobi says:

hey i just noticed is the guy that turns into the hippogriff Tom from Eddsworld?

    1. Shieltar says:

      nah, their all randoms.

  19. Jen says:

    Pontification is complete!
We have been waiting for a long time for this.

  20. Jude says:

This is how humanity end. Goodbye all.
